On average, visitors spend approximately an hour and a half on self-guided tours exploring the exhibits in our core exhibit galleries, longer when seasonal or touring exhibits are on display. Our "History Hunt" encourages visitors to search for answers that can be found in the exhibits.

Only groups of 30 or more need to make a tour reservation. Individuals or groups of fewer than 30 may tour anytime during our regular hours.

Submit your reservation form and payment at least five (5) business days prior to your visit!
Tour Reservation Policy
Groups of 30 or more receive a 10% discount off the total when your tour is booked and paid for five business days prior to visit.
Special Promotions (e.g., Groupon) are not applicable to group tours and are not subject to additional discounts. If you have a group of 30 or more, deduct 10% off the total, and return your payment along with the reservation form to The Griot Museum of Black History, 2505 St. Louis Ave., St. Louis, MO 63106. Admission and reservation payments are non-refundable and must be received no later than five (5) business days prior to your visit.
Discounted Admission APPLIES ONLY TO THOSE MEMBERS OF YOUR GROUP WHO WERE INCLUDED IN YOUR ORIGINAL RESERVATION, AND WHO ARRIVE WITH YOUR GROUP ON THE DAY AND TIME OF YOUR SCHEDULED TOUR.
Refunds will not be made for members of your group who are not present. The full admission price will be required for any additional members of your group who were not included in your original reservation (the group tour discount will not apply).
A written confirmation of payment in full will be provided upon request. Payment in full is required to confirm and secure your tour.
