Alice M. Windom Initiative Launch

  • The Griot Museum 2505 Saint Louis Avenue St. Louis, MO, 63106 United States (map)

The Griot Museum of Black History announces the gift of the personal Black History collection of St. Louis icon, Alice M. Windom. Windom was a scholar, distinguished community organizer, activist, historian, educator, and respected contributor to the “Pan African Movement.” She was also an inaugural board member of The Griot. Her impact on the St. Louis community and across several African countries, was immeasurable.

Join us at the public announcement at The Griot for what would have been Windom’s 88th birthday. The Windom Family and friends will present the Museum with contributions to support the Initiative. The community is invited to attend and can also make a contribution. Curated items from the collection will be available for public viewing.
