In September 2023, we kicked off Salon de Griot to great fanfare celebrating glass artist Doretha Washington before she made her journey to Atlanta. On March 29th, Lu Ray Studios will host an interactive mosaic workshop! During this workshop, using ceramics pieces present, or even some pieces you would like to bring from home, learn how to mesh them together to create a unique art piece! At a later date, some pieces produced from this workshop will become part of the city’s landscape, filling potholes around the Museum with creative expression.

The Salon de Griot is an experiential space where creatives, patrons, and thought partners gather in a relaxed atmosphere of food, fun, and fellowship to engage in creativity, conversation, concepts and current events. You choose the format - demonstrations, conversations, production, workshops, and more – and make it your own! We hope you will join us.
