Join The Griot Museum of Black History for a free and interactive day of making quilt panels to memorialize Robert Rayford and other community members in the Saint Louis area who died with HIV. 

People are welcome to bring the names and stories of loved ones they have lost to HIV / AIDS to be remembered.

Everyone is welcome to stay all day, or drop in and out as they are able. No prior experience with quilting or HIV / AIDS is required. Quilters Ms. Adelia Parker-Castro and Ms, Edna Patterson-Patty will be on hand to provide support. Refreshments will be provided. 

As part of the event, there will also be a short program at 1:30pm cst featuring poet Donnie Moreland and scholar Dr. Shanti Parikh.

This event is co-produced with the collective, What Would an HIV Doula Do?, with support from A Blade of Grass,  Knowledge of AIDS, and Washington University in St. Louis.
